He is live and well, the elder said, and cutting off the further talk, he blessed her and gave her his hand to kiss. Go! The old woman went home and asked her husband: And he said: Your cross, me? I do not have it on me. The old man went to bed, and the old woman later sat with her back to him on the bed and started to take off her blouse ... Ah, my husband is an old fool, so I have his cross hanging on me. Behind her, her own cross was hanging on the bedpost. For the elder there were no secrets, he foresaw the future life of each person, to him were open everyones sins, and even their thoughts. He knew how to bless, as it was necessary for this person, and he was never wrong, because his own mind was not acting; the elders mind was ruled by the Holy Spirit, who, because of his saintly life, departed not from him.
