Miracles x There are times in the year that trigger many great memories, tomorrow is my birthday and I always reflect on my life around this time, today i am compelled to share this with you... enjoy x In 1983 I came home one afternoon to find my dad in bed and in pain. He was sweating and looked like id never seen him before in my life. I was just 14 years old. Dad, Being an old school tough guy he told me he was fine and just needed to rest. That very day we had learnt about the signs of heart attacks in school, i asked him if his left arm was hurting, he said yes, how do you know and I told him we learnt this in biology class earlier in the day. I went to call for an ambulance and he told me not to. I went back downstair and told my mother, we eventually called one. That night was the longest night ever, mum went in the ambulance with dad and left me and my brother at home to call the family and let them know. Dad had 3 massive heart attacks that night. Everyone turned up to see him from all parts of London. He was a hugely loved and respected man. Doctors told us there was nothing they could do and said they had to turn off the life support, otherwise known as clinically dead. Mum asked if she could have a few minutes with dad in private before they do that, she asked if anyone had any Vibhuti (A religious ash) as she left hers at home in the rush. Nobody had any... Then her brother pulled out an envelope and said this arrived at HIS house that morning for her, never has he had anything sent to his house for her, it was a sachet of Vibhuti. Mum is the most amazing woman I know, she told the family to be strong, not to shed tears but to keep faith, sing Bhajans (religious songs) and to focus the mind on and create positive vibrations. She went in and put Vibhuti on my dads body and prayed ... this was her prayer... I have never asked for anything and always appreciated everything in life, this is the 1st time I am asking, give me 10 more years, even if he is in a wheelchair, i just need him by my side to give me the strength to bring the 2 boys up. Once they can stand on their own two feet you can take him back Next thing we know over a dozen doctors in ICU were around my dads bed and nurses running around, dad was back, the doctors said this was a miracle. He went on to have one of the first 5 heart transplants in the UK a few years later and In 1993, 10 years later, Dad left his body behind and went to a new place. This was a defining day for a 14 year old boy that became a man over night. My family and I continue to witnessed so many miracles in our lives its beyond what most can imagine. I know I am blessed in this life and hence have a passion for waking people up. Love and Light Always Kalpesh x
