Miramar and Burnham Wharfs. Circa unknown...the railway tracks went from the wharfe to the gas works on the other side of the cutting... this was for the supply of coal to the gas works...as it was coal gas back then.. before natural gas... Burnham wharfe (on the right) was for the supply of fuel and bunker oil, to the holding tanks in Mirimar, via a pipe line through the hill opposite (still there)..... and later on, jet fuel to the airport
