Mirik municipality is concerned over the various problems being faced by wards under its jurisdiction and has reportedly taken steps to address. According to Mirik Municipality chairperson Mala Subba, all nine wards of the municipality area would be developed gradually. She appealed to the public to extend help while the civic body initiates such development works, adding the board has already chalked out various schemes for implementation across Mirik subdivision. Subba added the administration plans setting up a water tank in every ward to eradicate drinking water problems. Repairs to the footpath in Mirik bazaar has already started. She said Mirik is the smallest municipality according to area in the whole of West Bengal and has been facing numerous problems since the past decade.
