Mirik police conduct meeting with tourism stakeholders MIRIK, 15 Jun 2014: The Mirik police today conducted a meeting with various tourism stakeholders, including hotel, lodge and home-stay owners under Mirik Tourist Centre for effective management of tourism in the region. The meeting presided over by Mirik PS officer in-charge Sanjay Das highlighted the importance of collecting vital personal and professional information of all the tourists visiting Mirik for security purpose. He urged the stakeholders to keep record of all the tourists, including both domestic and foreign tourists. Das further urged the lodge, hotel and home-stay owners to inform the police if they come across any group or individual who look suspicious. He said the picturesque landscape and the lake make Mirik an ideal tourism destination. Thousands of tourists flock the region during the tourism season and stay at various hotels, lodges and home-stay installments in an around the town. However, many owners do not take the information on their identification, which could lead to problems in the future, Das explained. (EOIC)
