Mirwaiz concerned over prevailing situation in IOK In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has said that the present situation in the territory is worrisome after the killing of five youth in Shopian. The APHC Chairman, who is under house arrest, addressing a gathering over phone in Srinagar, said that pro-India leaders were pursuing New Delhi’s genocide agenda to suppress the people of Kashmir through military might. “The rulers have lost all sense of morality. They are providing all kind of support to New Delhi in killing Kashmiri people and muzzling the voice of dissent through its military might,” he said. The Mirwaiz deplored that instead of holding its troops and police accountable, India was putting its full weight behind the so-called leaders so that more and more people were killed. “There is no accountability for the forces that are present in every nook and corner of Kashmir to curb people’s aspirations,” he said. The APHC Chairman said, it is because of the anti-Kashmir policies adopted by the puppet administration and New Delhi that incidents like Shopian take place. He said that the occupation authorities had snatched the right to live from the Kashmiris. He pointed out that there was no guarantee for safety of lives and property of the Kashmiri people till Indian troops were present in the territory. The Mirwaiz urged the international community to take strong notice of bloodshed and oppression in occupied Kashmir. “I fervently appeal to the people of India and world community who believe in equality among people, who believe that the charter of human rights equally applies to all of mankind, to stand up and speak for the people of Kashmir,” he added. The APHC Chairman has also shot letters to the embassies of many countries seeking their intervention in stopping the killing of innocents in Kashmir.
