Miss H had her regular, quarterly neuro appt at CMH today: 1) Due to her high tone, Dr. A is recommending Botox injections for her hands, wrists & possibly hamstrings. We held off last year from doing this due to her getting stem cells in Panama & wanting to make sure we did one thing at a time to not overwhelm her. 2) We were referred to a new Orthopedic Surgeon (her first one moved away) to get an update/checkup on her hip dysplasia. Miss H has been having a bit more pain in regards to this so were keeping a close eye on it. 3) Lastly, due to some (very recent) but weekly frequency of a new seizure, were now exploring VNS (Vagus Nerve Stimulation). Although both Dan & I felt good about the recommendations, I must admit Im feeling extremely overwhelmed. Im a mom, and she is still my baby girl. There was a lot of information presented & discussed. We have a lot of research to do, and more questions to ask before any of these treatments will be implemented with Miss H. To top it all off, I received news last Friday that shes been denied all current & future Physical Therapy visits by her insurance. We are actively & aggressively appealing this decision. Your prayers on all of the above are very much appreciated (as always).
