Miss World contest was started by Mr Eric Morley many many years ago as high light for the Festival of Great Britain it was a one of event but due to brilliant success of the event it was decided to organise it on annual basis. I worked first as Assistant Catering Manager with MECCA LIMITED and then as Catering Manager at the Lyceum Ball room in the Strand in London, it is the most famous and the oldest Ball Room in the World. Miss World and Miss Portuguese Ball were held at the Lyceum. These events raised millions of Pounds for Childrens charities around the World.;;;;;; BEAUTY WITH A PURPOSE;;;;; I would only list a few of the most brilliant, vibrant and intelligent Beauty contestant and winners. Miss Rita Faria Powell from India won the contest because of her intelligence patience dedication etc., She after winning the title of Miss World finished her medical studies first in India then at Kings College London. She now resides in Dublin Ireland with children, she has her own Surgery. Lynda Carter won the title and became a successful actress, her TV series was sold in 52 countries.Ali McGraw won the Pageant and overnight success followed when she played the wife of RyanO Neal in the hit movie The Love Story. Halle Berry won Miss Ohio and played Lead Role in one of the James Bond Film. The most amazing winner of the title was Heather White stone, she was the first woman with disability ever to win the coveted title. During the interview on American Prim TV, she had to LIP READ the interviewers questions and then answer. After winning the title, she launched a charity S>T>A>R>S. ( Success Through Action and Realization of your dream) Phyllis George won the title and became the first woman Sports Presenter. Marilyn Van Derbur won the title in 1957 and remains the Most respected Miss America ever.The Miss World Charities is a huge organisation working for under privileged children in many countries. Now lately, there has been a Muslim Women Beauty Contest and they have to answer among other subjects knowledge of Islam and to work for a year on charity projects. Similarly, Mr Universe, was won by Sean Conrey, the Original James Bond. He did many films but the entire fee received in the film : Diamond are for Ever: was donated to some school in Scotland where he comes from.Her Majesty the Queen knighted Sean Conery for his Charity work. The Miss World Platform has given a chance to many Talented men and woman to shine and make good of their lives. Some of the contestants had all those qualities whihc this Lady called Umera Ahemed distributed according to ages of 25 years, 35 years and so on. There is NO DEGRADATION in Miss World title but may be in some sick minds. There is WIDE SPREAD DEGRADATION of women in many countries where there is No Miss World.It is surprising that Miss Ahmed did not see any degradation in MR UNIVERSE, not only Sean Conrey but Arnold of America has become a living legend in his own right after winning Mr Universe .From Hollywood to becoming the Governor of California.I have worked with MECCA for a number of years and I have seen everything first hand. Eric |Morley was a Genius . The Company had given him a helicopter to visit 200 plus branches of Mecca Limited.
