Missing 15-year-old’s parents claim she went to live in Asheville SALISBURY, N.C. — Many are left with questions concerning a 15-year-old Rowan County girl who disappeared nearly two years ago but was reported missing only two weeks ago. Erica Lynn Parsons has not been seen or heard from since deputies say she disappeared from her Salisbury home in November 2011. A criminal investigation into her disappearance could begin as early as Wednesday. Her adoptive parents, Casey and Sandy Parsons, have not commented on the case. Erica’s grandparents say that for the past 20 months, Erica’s parents claimed she had gone to live in Asheville with her biological grandmother. However, WSOC reports no relatives of the teen could be found in Asheville. Police in Asheville say they were not aware of the case until Tuesday. WSOC reports James Parsons, Erica’s stepbrother, reported her missing on June 30. Family members say James moved out of his parents’ home before telling police everything he knew about Erica’s disappearance. A lawyer representing Erica’s parents say the teen simply left home and said she would not be coming back. The lawyer tells WSOC Erica wanted to live in Asheville. Police have been questioning the parents for two days. myfox8/2013/08/07/missing-15-year-olds-parents-claim-she-went-to-live-in-asheville/
