Missing Chongqing girl ‘killed by taxi driver’ Police in Chongqing have said that 20-year-old Gao Yu who had been missing for 11 days after having taken an unlicensed taxi was murdered by the vehicle’s driver. Gao’s mother had approached the police and reported her as missing on August 9. Thereafter, desperate to find any clue regarding her daughter’s whereabouts, she had even announced a reward of 200,000 yuan ($32,504). However, on Tuesday, the police arrested a 41-year-old man, surnamed Pu, in connection with the case. Thereafter, they explained that Gao disappeared after getting in a car with the license plate number CN3275. According to them, after Gao boarded the taxi, she ended up getting into an argument with the driver Pu, which led to him killing her. Pu was reportedly detained in Yunnan Province. Further investigations are still underway.
