Missing JD lots today. But I know what hed say.. Got somethin on your shirt.... Hed point and of course Id fall for it EVERY time... Hed follow with a cheeky grin, touch my chin and say, Chin up! Eyes forward and one foot after the other. Easy as 1, 2, 3! He was magical, amazing and the most inspiring man I have EVER known! I know how lucky I am to have been able to spend time with him. One of my favorite memories with him is of us walking back to the Aspen grove at Windstar. Dunno how many of you have ventured back there but there was a fallen tree on which wed sit and talk about absolutely anything and nothing at the same time. Does that even make sense? Might not but let me tell ya, I learned so much during those conversations. We were walking back there and just as we were about to sit... I was probably babbling on about something and of course not watching where I was going and just as we were about to sit, my foot caught a rock or something and I tumbled ass over teacups over that stupid fallen tree! I was mortified, scraped my stupid forehead and sort of was in a daze for a few seconds wondering if that, in fact, had actually happened! Yeah, it happened. Know what JD did? He waited a brief second to see if I was gonna cry and when I didnt, in a flash, he turned around and pointed out a bird or something in the distance and pretended to be OBLIVIOUS to my amazing display of gracelessness until I was able to stand up, brush off and compose myself! HAHAH! I am blessed to have the best memories of one of the most awe inspiring people that I was lucky enough to have grown up around.
