Missing Medicaid Community health centers in almost two dozen - TopicsExpress

Missing Medicaid Community health centers in almost two dozen states that declined to expand their Medicaid programs in 2014 are poised to lose out on as much $569 million in additional revenue this year alone, according to a new report from the Milken Institute School of Public Health at George Washington University. At the same time, access to care could be compromised at these safety net organizations, which primarily serve medically underserved regions, the reports authors warn. In addition, the report highlights several other potential issues that could arise in states that decline to expand Medicaid, including a gap in the availability of specialty care, diagnostic testing and elective procedures that the centers typically cannot provide.
