Mission Accomplished I dont know about you guys, but when I saw - TopicsExpress

Mission Accomplished I dont know about you guys, but when I saw ads for the Bradley Cooper film American Sniper the first thing I thought is, Why the hell are we glorifying this kinda shit? Even if this film wasnt a direct propaganda campaign, it sure as hell served that purpose. Now ignorant Americans have been given even more fuel for their xenophobic fire which gives politicians and their warring ways even more support. Chris Kyle, the Navy Seal sniper who was portrayed in the film, literally bragged about killing upwards of 250 Iraqi soldiers and civilians in his memoir. He bragged about looting the homes of Iraqi families and even bragged about picking off upwards of 30 people from the Superdome roof during the chaos and aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. This lack of remorse would lead most to believe that this man was in fact a sociopath. Would someone with empathy say things like this: I dont shoot people with Korans. Id like to, but I dont. Rabid pro-war people have demonized journalists for their reviews by calling them every name in the book in response to reviews that respectfully disagree with the films portrayal of the sniper and of the war. What its also done is drum up even more support for our warring xenophobic ways. Way to go Hollywood.
