Mississippi participated in a study conducted by SouthArts on the topic of Arts Education in our schools. The study focused on one of MACs Whole Schools Initiatives Model WSI Schools, Casey Elementary. The document will be released soon but in the meantime, here is an invitation to participate in this live webcast of a panel discussion regarding the study. Join us! Thursday, May 15 – 10:30-11:45 AM EDT Plenary Session: “Arts Education Quality in Context: Emerging Research and Actionable Opportunities” This discussion centers on a new two-part study examining access to and quality of K-12 arts education in the South. The first part includes the quantitative study Arts Education in the South, which contains data from schools across the South as a region, as well as at the individual state and school levels. The second part includes a case study analysis of selected quality arts education programs in K-12 schools in the South. These complementary studies will both be available to download for free from Southarts.org following the 7th Annual Arts & Education Forum. During the session, presenters will highlight findings, suggest areas for further investigation, and explore actionable opportunities to consider. This discussion will run for 45 minutes, followed by breakout discussions. Suggested discussion questions will be provided ahead of time for live-stream viewing parties. The stream will be live from 10:30-11:45am EDT on May 15, and a recording will be available (same link) afterwards. mediaweb.mediasite.utc.edu/UTC5/Viewer/?peid=e0b9868b6e284aa2b3c28bbc797b2ae11d
