Mississippis laws banning teachers unions means teachers are (a) difficult to attract to Mississippi, (b) those that come because of a loan forgiveness program leave after exactly the two year minimum service requirement, and (c) its almost impossible to fire a teacher who decided to stay in Mississippi, since there are no replacements for that teacher. Unions, oddly enough, make teacher firings easier since more teachers are attracted to a union state to replace the bad ones.
