Missouri Master Naturalists are invited to the Greene County Budget Signing on Friday, January 30. The budget includes $27,000 for the University of Missouri Extension of Greene County. Details below: The Greene County Commission has finalized its 2015 budget and the Greene County Extension Council will receive $27,000 this year! This is up from the state minimum of $10,000 that we have received for at least four years now. The increase is a very positive step. It does not remove the need to continue doing private fundraising in order to fund a full-time office but it does give us a reason to celebrate! I wanted to thank each of you for your support for Greene County Extension programs. I also wanted to invite you to the official budget signing which will take place at 3 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 30 in room 212 of the Historic Courthouse. The entire ceremony is only expected to last 10 minutes. This will be an excellent opportunity for those of you who work for Extension or support one of the many Extension programs in our county to attend as a way to show our appreciation for the Greene County Commission. You would also have an opportunity to thank the Commissioners in person should you so choose. Hope to see you there. David L.
