Missouri State Fair Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion Meat Goat Announced Carter Ward, son of Jack and Mary Ann Ward, is the exhibitor of the 2013 Grand Champion Meat Goat at the Missouri State Fair. Carter is a member of the Plattsburg Hustlers 4-H Club in Plattsburg. His prize-winning Boer goat weighed 70 pounds. The Reserve Grand Champion Meat Goat honor went to Gage Porter, son of Gary and Lori Porter. His Boer goat weighed 77 pounds. Gage is a member of the North Mercer FFA Chapter in North Mercer. Congratulations to Carter and Gage! The 2013 Missouri State Fair, themed “Chicks Dig It!,” is underway through Aug.18 in Sedalia.
