Missouri people if you dont think this Right To Work stuff affects you, youre wrong. Its worst for the blue collar workers, but it has a chain reaction thats wide spread. Take me for example (who lives in IL but still stands to lose a lot from this). If the labor force in Missouri loses collective bargaining rights and the big corporations are able to force wages down, theres increased competition to the market. That means the big corporations can buy the same construction project for less money. Unfortunately that means theres more companies that dont get the jobs--which means management folks like me risk my job. Furthermore, most of the collective bargaining isnt for wage increases that amount to anything more than COLA. Theyre for keeping up with insurance benefits. What happens when they lose those? Well everyone gets to help pitch in and pay for all of their medical expenses through all of the various government programs. I urge you to call the folks in Jeff City and tell them that Right To Work is wrong for Missouri.
