Mistake List (episode 3) Written By: #Prince Wako Pitori (Prince Mazibuko) Mfundo quickly ran to the other side to find his uncle then when he got there,his uncle and a few of the other family members were already standing in a circle talking about the situation.Mfundos uncle was explaining while the others stood there and listened attentively then when he saw Mfundo approaching,he stopped and looked at him with those regretful eyes of heart break.The other people who were standing in a circle turned around to check what the uncle was staring at and when they saw Mfundo they all bowed their heads with sympathy and heart break.Mfundos uncle slowly shook his head and tilted his head down a bit as an expression of the pressure that had just landed on his shoulders.He knew very well that he was the one who was supposed to confirm to Mfundo that his mothers body had really been creamated.Uncle Ben.Whats going??Why is everyone looking at me like that???Wheres the correct body??,asked Mfundo in a very impatient and curious way.Mfundos uncle slowly pulled Mfundo aside then asked him to sit down.He placed his one hand on Mfundos shoulder then he began to explain everything.Mfundo crossed his arms and placed them on his knees then he balanced his head and cried until he couldnt anymore.Where are the ashes,he asked.They are in a small glass container in your bedrooms father.My boy,I know you are young but lets face reality.With a father like this,you are the man of the family.Tell us what to do next son.This is your decision,said Mfundos uncle.She wanted to be burried next to her parents.She didnt want us to do it like this.Shell never rest in peace uncle Ben :( ,Mfundo cried.His uncle gave him a pat on the shoulder then he whispered Tiiya mfanaka (Be strong my boy)...We have to make a decision..Mfundo wiped his tears off then he took a deep breath,stood and said Lets just cancel the funeral and tell the people the truth.We cant burry Ashes uncle Ben.Its just wrong........Are you sure thats what you want us to do son??,Mfundos uncle ask.Mfundo closed his eyes and nodded his head as a sign to say yes.Uncle Ben stood up and walked back to the other side followed by Mfundo himself.Uncle Ben went to the front of the tent and cleared his throat to get the peoples attention then when they looked at him he began to speak.He explained everything and announced that the funeral would no longer take place.Everyone was so shocked and amazed since that was the first time they had come across such a situation.Things just couldnt get any worse than that for Mfundo and his family.It was very awkward when everyone got up and left one by one because when all got home they all had to say one sentence that would never in a million years make sense.THE FUNERAL WAS CANCELLED.Imagine that.If someone came to you and told you that youd probably be like Huh.Why?Did the deceased wake up or something?....Anyway.In an hour or two,all the neighbours and friend were gone so Mfundo and his relatives were left alone trying to figure out their next move.Im taking this company to court.They definately have to pay for this.We cant allow this,said uncle Ben as everyone nodded their heads and agreed with his statement.The whole family held hands and stood together than they said a very long prayer.They then sat at the tent and talked about all the memories that each of them shared with Mfundos mother.All the little kids went to sleep in Mfundos room where some air beds and sponge beds had been sorted for them.Mfundo and the rest of the family stayed up the whole night and just talked and talked expressing how they were all feeling.The time for them to go to sleep finaly came so they all went to sleep as tired and exhausted as they all were.Since the little kids were the first to go to sleep they were the first once to wake up so when they woke up they decided to play house.The oldest one stole some matches from uncle bens pocket then they used some tin food containers as pots.They stole a few veggies and cooked outside at their small fire then came the time for them to cook the pap.I cant find the mealie meal,whispered the youngest one.Shhh..I found the mealie meal,whispered the older one.Do you know what he had in his hands???THE GLASS CONTAINER THAT HAD THE ASHES OF MFUNDOS MOM.......
