Mistakenly workers spilled the sludge ; we regret inconvenience : Indichime Health Specialist Pvt Ltd 18 Oct, Rangpo : Under the Swachh Bharat Swachh Sikkim Mission and as a part of health and hygienic program the staff and workers of the Indichime Health Specialist Private Limited Kumrek organized a cleanness drive from their own premises .The initiative was welcomed by the civil society of the area. Regarding the two days before incident where the company management mentioned that at that day too the cleanness drive was organized. Unfortunately, some outside workers who was engaged in the drive mistakenly loaded the ETP sludge along with scrapped construction materials on tipper which was kept for the disposal by the West Bengal waste management limited. At the time of transportation some sludge leaked out on the road side due to which foul smell was spread. Now, the road and the yard is totally washed and cleaned up by the management and now there is no foul smell. The company has regretted for the incident and inconvenience caused to the general public.
