Mistakes are not bad; they teach us valuable lessons. “Life was meant to be lived, and curiosity must be kept alive. One must never, for whatever reason, turn his back on life.” --Eleanor Roosevelt “A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing.” --George Bernard Shaw Eleanor Roosevelt had it right: Life is meant to be lived. Living requires taking risks and challenging ourselves. We must constantly push beyond our comfort zones if we are to live and learn and grow! Taking these risks, challenging ourselves and pushing our comfort zones means that from time to time we will make a mistake or two. We will even...wait for it .... “fail.” (GULP). BUT, BUT, BUT......Ladies and Gentlement mistakes and failing are part of life! They HAVE to happen for our learning and more importantly GROWTH! We learn from the mistakes and thus grow as a result. The same is true from our failures. If they defeat us, we are lost. We cannot allow a mistake or a failure defeat us. We are stronger than that. If you beat yourself up about each and every mistake you make, you will end up not living. Living involves taking risks, putting yourself out there, extending yourself beyond your comfort zone. “Failure is success if we learn from it.” --Malcolm Forbes “Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.” --T.S. Eliot “To try and fail is at least to learn; to fail to try is to suffer the inestimable loss of what might have been.” --Chester Barnard "Fall seven times, stand up eight" --Japanese Proverb "No matter how many times you fall down, stay strong and have the courage to get back up again. Never give up!" --unknown
