Mithilesh Srivastava is an eminent Indian poet from Bihar, India. He writes in Hindi, the official language of India. He is also an important contemporary art and theatre critic and has been vocal in reputable newspapers, journals, magazines, audio & visual media. He has two major collections of poetry: namely, Kisi Umeed Ki Tarah (As a Hope) and Putle Par Gussa (Anger on Effigy) and one collection of prose Kavi Ka Kaha (The Poet Speaks) to his credit. He has been awarded the SAARC Festival of Literature Award from the Foundation of SAARC Writers & Literature for poetry. He also works towards bridging the gap between contemporary poetry and people through ‘Likhawat,’ a group of friends and poets dedicated to taking literature to the masses. Mithilesh Srivastava is the Coordinator of Dialogue, a literary program of the Foundation of SAARC Writers & Literature. He is also an advisor to the Academy of Fine Arts & Literature. He visited Surinam as a delegate to attend Hindi Bhasha Sammelan at Paramaribo (Surinaam) and to participate in the Poets’ Meet. He visited Kathmandu (Nepal) to participate in the Poets’ Meet at the SAARC Festival of Literature.
