Mizuno’s new high-end baseball bat is like no other bat we’ve - TopicsExpress

Mizuno’s new high-end baseball bat is like no other bat we’ve encountered in the years since wooden bats gave way to aluminum, graphite, titanium and various other materials found in modern metal, composite and hybrid bats. The barrell of the Mizuno MaxCor is soft. That’s right, if you press hard with a finger it leaves an impression for a fraction of a second. The core of the bat is aluminum, but the barrell is sheathed in polyurethane. Theres also a damper transition piece from barrel to taper that reduces vibrations in the bat. The design is said to create backspin on the baseball as it leaves the bat, causing the ball to travel further for power hitters. The bat does have tremendous pop, sending baseballs flying deep with a sound that is closer to that of wood hitting a ball than metal or composite sounds. Our high school test hitters felt that their power was definitely augmented by the bat. BBCOR-certified, the MaxCor bat is approved for play by the NCAA and the NHSF. youtu.be/IPBi5aVNEMU
