MoM of the 284th Chapter meeting of Toastmasters Club of Pune held on 20th September 2014 Theme of the day was Celebrations There were 33 TMs and 6 Guests who attended this meeting at Deccan Gymkhana. It was also the birthday of our very own DTM Prasad Sovani, also not to forget 4 other Toastmasters,who had their birthdays on the same day. Many Toastmasters celebrate their birthdays in September, hence a month of celebration and therefore a very apt theme of the day Sergeant at Arms TM Mayukh Roy started the meeting at sharp 5pm and explained the rules and regulations of the meeting in a smooth way. There was a round of introduction among the guests and then TM Mayukh introduced the Toastmaster of the day Toastmaster of the day Sudarshan Mahajan started with a question asking us ‘Do we need to celebrate??? And then went on to say that we always need to be celebratory, there should be no reason to celebrate. Grammarian TM Ranjit Misal Nikam introduced the word of the day ‘Carousal’ and Phrase of the day ‘To have a whale of a time’. President Azharuddin Khadri, in his opening address said that he had a reason to be happy, and that reason was that Toastmasters Club of Pune had been ranked the best club in India There were 3 Speakers who delivered their speeches at this meeting ,The first speaker TM Rakhee Sinha attempted Project 1 and in her speech she talked about her superpowers as a midnight child and how she was always at the right place at thee right time with the right people. She also told us about her childhood, education and the dreams she had. The second speaker TM Mohit Garg attempted Project 10 and in his speech urged everyone that whatever we reap from society, we must also return it back to society, He also inspired us with many examples, including in Toastmasters where we just expect feedback, but reminded us that we should also learn to give feedback to others. With this speech, he achieved the title of Competent Communicator(CC)The third speaker DTM Prasad Sovani attempted Advanced Project 4 : A Dramatic Talk and in this speech narrated to us ,his own personal experience on 20th September 1991 ,a day he could have died ,and talked about his experience of hunting a lion. Evaluators TM Shashank Tiwari, TM P.R Jose and TM Nagappan PL gave their feedback to their target speakers Table Topics master TM Amol Mali had interesting topics according to the theme and gave an opportunity to both Toastmasters and Guests Timer TM Shashikant Zalte was prompt and went according to the timing of the agenda Grammarian TM Ranjit Misal Nikam gave a detailed report on the good and bad usage of grammar Ah Counter TM Jitendra Kumar gave a detailed report on the usage of Ahs Ums fillers and pauses General evaluator TM Mohan Karambelkar gave a detailed report of the proceedings of the meeting,he commended the Toastmaster of the day, roleplayers and evaluators and gave everyone some suggestions as well President Azharuddin Khadri gave his concluding remarks, took feedback from the guests and handed the best speaker,best evaluator and best table topics speaker honor to the winners .
