Mocking at the tall claims of the state government about providing of better road connectivity to people in rural areas of Doda district BHADERWAH,JULY 11--Mocking at the tall claims of the state government about providing of better road connectivity to people in rural areas of Doda district , majority of the main roads of Bhaderwah constituency are in complete shambles. Residents say that one of the main road Bhaderwah -Manthala road is in a dilapidated condition. “The road is dotted with potholes making the movement of the traffic and the pedestrians equally difficult,” said the villagers.They said that due to the pathetic condition of the road the students and employees are suffering as they are not able to reach to their work places on time. “The problem gets aggravated when we have to ferry the patients and expecting mothers to Bhaderwah or Doda hospitals,” said Koshal Kotwal senir BJP Leader and member state executive body BJP and also resident of Manthala Area . He said that several people have developed backaches and other orthopedic problems after frequently travelling on the road.This is a shortest route connecting dozens of villages of Bhaderwah town but the road is bumpy and dotted with potholes,” said Ampy Singh. He said that due to the dilapidated condition of the road, the villagers of Manthala were facing tremendous hardships. “The condition of the road is so bad that even a small downpour inundates it making it muddy,” said the villagers, adding the roads gets slippers during the rains making the pedestrian movement very difficult.They said that the dust emanated during dry seasons has been the cause of respiratory diseases in the area. “The respiratory disorders among the commuters are on rise,” the locals said.The residents of all villages say that they can’t recall the time when the road was macadamized by the concerned authorities. “Our vehicles have suffered extensive damages due to the dilapidated condition of the roads in Bhaderwah Manthala ,” said a Sumo driver , adding that the annual maintenance cost of the vehicles had also gone up. He said that majority of the drivers avoid plying on this road as a result of which the passengers have to bear the brunt. “We again apprised the authorities about the pathetic condition of road in the area and asked for repairs and subsequent but our pleas have fallen on deaf ears,” he added. The residents demanded Strict action against Xen PWD Bhaderwah who is lest bothered about the condition of roads instead of repeated requests
