Models have backed off on the cold overnights...looking more likely only the extreme cold pockets run a frost threat....beginning Sunday a.m, and several nights next week. It doesnt look as cold as it did intitally...coldest spots may bottom out still in upper 20s a few nights....while most spots may not get below the upper 30s..it still may trend lower in time...early next week is looking like the best potential and most widespread as the high pressure begins to be centered over us early next week keeping winds down and skies clear overnight..this is colder than the August cold night. The air mass overall is colder, stronger high pressure, and nights are longer..3 ingredients that should lead to a frost at least in the coldest of spots..not as widespread as it looked....I do think forecast on lows from Tv to Nws will be way off in that time period...pic is lows sunday and Monday and GFS surface features Monday in the 3rd pic
