Modern Beach House Project This years started off at full speed for I for Style with several projects on the boil. Last week saw me in Sawtell, about five minutes from Coffs Harbour for a project due to be commenced in May this year. The concept behind the renovation is modern beach house. The three bedroom apartment is on the beach front but set back with a lovely short walk through bush to get there. In its current state, its looking rather tired (check out the pics of existing). However, it will look vastly different in a months time!! The purpose of my time there last week was to meet with my clients and familiarise myself with the apartment onsite. Also to go over in more detail the practical requirements as well as firm up the all important aesthetic elements of the upcoming project. During my stay we meet with the builder Robin, an awesome guy with such an enthusiastic and positive approach it was impossible not to feel inspired! We also met onsite the tiler, window company and carpet people among others. Lots of brainstorming and creative thinking was done during that time. I loved what Robin had to say When it comes to finding a solution to potential curve balls, nothing is ever a bad idea We were also able to pick the carpet, tiles (wall and floor), some of the lighting and looked at some pc items for the bathrooms such as toilets, basins, sinks. Phew!! It was a power packed few days!!! The key to building or renovating, is to be organised. The more forward planning that is done, the smoother the whole process will be. The builder is organising all the tradespeople involved in the renovation so they will be as prepared as they can be when the project commences. All products required will also be onsite and easy to access. Gotta love that!!
