Modern Indian Languages and Literary Studies ------------------------------------------------------ 12 March 2014 Endowment Lecture in the name of “Padma Bhushan Dr. Rajah Sir M.A. Muthiah Chettiar of Chettinad” ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Endowment Lecture programme in the name of “Padma Bhushan Dr. Rajah Sir M.A. Muthiah Chettiar of Chettinad” was instituted by the Indian Cultural Research Trust, Chennai in the year 1997. The Department of Modern Indian Languages and Literary Studies has organized the 17th Endowment Lecture Programme on 12th March, 2014. Dr. G. Rajagopal, Associate Professor of Tamil was the convener as assigned by the Head of the Department. Prof. Nirmal Selvamony, Associate Professor of English, Central University of Tamil Nadu delivered the Endowment Lecture titled “The Ecotheoretical Turn of Theory Through The Literary Lens” on 12th March, 2014 Prof. D. Murthy, Professor of Tamil, Department of Modern Indian Language, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh chaired the Endowment Lecture. Prof. A. Mariappan, then the Head of the Department, welcomed the gathering and felicitated the Speaker and the Chairperson. Professor Nandita Basu and Prof. P.C. Pattanaik have felicitated the speaker and the chairperson with books. The lecture was well received by its audience, thus making the Endowment lecture a complete success. Dr. G. Rajagopal extended official vote of thanks to everyone, including the University authorities for their cooperation in making the programme success.
