Modern day film noir is not nearly as plentiful as noir from its classic period, the forties and fifties. However, the best film noir of today is every bit as great as in decades past. One of my personal favorites of todays film noir is The Usual Suspects. It has one of the best ensemble casts ever put together, and there are no real heroes, just villains, and some less villainous, if still not sympathic characters. Kevin Stacey stands out, and if you havent seen this one in a while, go back to it again. I see something different everytime I watch it.
