Modern idolatry The Bible says flee Idolatry.....the literary or layman meaning of idolatry is worshiping of man made god...but it goes further than that...there are other man made things that can become idolatry, depending on the way one uses them....anything that takes or rob God of His place in your life is an idol..you dont have time to have good personal devotion with God but you can spend time doing make ups or hours in the saloon making your hair, your beauty has become an idol, you miss church service just to end up in sport center to watch football, you rob God of His service just to be in another service to celebrate footballers...football has been an idol to you, even your own books can be an idol, you gained admission into the university, and your ideology is reading reading reading...1st class most be made at all cost even if my spiritual life is dwindling, It doesnt matter, even if I miss church services in other to read, it doesnt matter, Im here to study, not to go to church......your book has become ur god...your business how do run it?....from morning till night for 24/7 you re engage in it, no enough time for morning devotion, church, evangelism, its just beusiness business, money money money must be made at all cost even if its detrimental to my spiritual life...it doesnt matter, God understands...I can send money for church building, or for harvest etc...then money has become an idol that rob God of His place in your life, same goes to office workers..television! What has it done to you? You have ignorantly key in into the god of seduction(1Tim4vs1) release to occupy christians on the non-essential of love and thereby weakening their spiritual life....you watch love film from india to philistine, and from one love film to another, all you think now is love, you re now very skilled and experience in n with love and not on the word of God and prayer..you begin to study one boy or girl as if he or she is your Bible!....when you sleep you dream of love, you wake up, your head is in love .has it help your spiritual life?...Television has rob God of His place in your life...it has become a god to u..social network, ah! Satan has used this medium to ruin many of their spiritual life, if theres one means satan is using to destroy many christian..its the social media...facebooking, pinging, whatsapping, 2going,etc from morning till night, ane even if you manage to go to church, you are either engage physically in one of these social network or engage in it in your thoughts, you cant spend adequate time any more to feed your soul by reading, digesting the word of God and praying it into your life, while you wage war against the powers of darkness that seek to sift and sway you from the faith, yet you have time catch some funs, chat n chat n chat n chat away virtues, at the end you feel satisfy and gratify in your flesh(even when ur spirit is starving) as you ruminate on the chats even when you have log off and sleep off(social network has rob God of His place in your life, therefore it has become a god to u)...tell me how are you going to overcome in this end time, Even our Lord says men ought ALWAYS to pray and not to faint(luke 18vs1), and He also said search the scripture for in them ye think ye have ETERNAL life for they are they which testify of me(John 5vs 39), you cant spend time to read the word of God and pray for your soul in a dangerous end time like this but you can facebook, ping, whatsapp for hours! Satan is on your track and trail!...becareful, even marriage can become an idol, when all that matters to you is how to meet the needs of ur wife or husband, children and other needs at all cost even if it means missing church and your own personal devotion with God.....marriage has become a god to u..u worship marriage!....for Demas(you) has forsaken me having love this present world(2Tim.4vs10)......good things turn bad.....some of the mediums mentioned are not bad...but the way you consecrate your time and all to them and that at the detriment of your spiritual life, makes them bad......dont allow satan to use these things to sway you off the FAITH like he did to Demas!.....bewise! Take charge and dont allow them(these things) to be in charge!
