Modern middle eastern history suggests that regimes were overthrown by hiring local thugs and or creating internal tensions either by the powerful western political actors or their client states when natural resources rich countries seek non- western and powerful business partners. Russia and China are two formidable powers in the post- cold war era with defined aims. Washington and Tel- Aviv wouldnt like to see the erosion of their interests and power in the greater Palestine region. The current war explains the reality.
