Modi Visit to USA--------An Analysis Let us analyse the pluses first: - 1. He came across as a supremely confident earthy man rooted to the ground and was proud of his humble origins. That part looked truly genuine. Any nation which allows a person of humble origins to rise to the top post should be proud of itself. 2. He sold India well and has boosted the image of this country. Of that there is no doubt. 3. His insistence on speaking Hindi is brilliant. We cant label him a Hindi fanatic as he ascribes to Gujarati as his mother tongue. Plus it adds an aura as people lean forward to hear the translation. The trick is make them come to you rather than you going to them. 4.His announcement of VISAS for PIOS and the Visa on arrival for American Citizens is a very good step 5. A strategic partnership with the USA is an excellent move provided that the UK and Europe do not come in as bag and baggage. 6.Clean Ganga initiative I suspect will be as defining a symbol as the Dandi March if carried out properly.
