Modi attacks Congress for its anti-middle class attitude 6,000 policemen were deployed for surveillance on ground, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) fanned the Palace Grounds, the venue of Modis rally. The police, however, didnt reveal the arrangement details for security reasons. The police had taken over the venue since November 5 and sanitised it daily, checking for explosives. Mine-sweepers were also hired for the purpose. The police were deployed round-the-clock at the venue over the last two weeks. While the Karnataka Police provided the first ring of security, the second level was given by a special wing of the police. The security was tightened because of the October 27 serial bomb blasts in Patna, where Modi addressed a rally. Apart from 5,000 policemen from the City Armed Reserve and the civil police units, 36 platoons of the Karnataka State Reserve Police were also deployed. As many as 20 watch towers were set up around the venue. Dozens of high-resolution CCTV cameras and metal detectors were installed at the venue. Visitors were not allowed to carry bags or foodstuffs. All were thoroughly frisked by the police before entering the venue. Police heaved a sigh of relief, as the rally went off peacefully.
