Modifying the positive challenge tonight. Some of you may remember my friend, Emily DAgistino Potter, who died from inflammatory breast cancer on the 21st of August in 2006. At this point, 8 years ago, we knew that she was going to be leaving all of us as there was nothing else medicine could do to help her fend off the sickness that we all knew was going to take her from us at some point. For about a year before she left I used to send her youtube clips of songs sung by really awesome men. We loved music. The last song I sent her was by the Mavericks and I love Raoul. I also loved the peaceful sound of the song, almost like a lullaby for grownups. I couldnt do much beyond sending her beautiful music. Very soon after that video was taken off of youtube. For whatever reason, when that disappeared I felt like Id lost my last point of contact with my amazing and inspirational friend. I even contacted the person whod posted it and she said it was impossible to find again. So my positives for today are that I am so grateful I got to be friends with Emily and that Im happy I was able to do anything to help her as she fought to extend her life.
