Mohans musing: Did we oppose the proposal or the proposer? Well…. We were planning a weekend day out. I had suggested a movie after an early dinner. However my better half had some better idea … spend lot of time looking around window (thankfully) shopping. Top it with late night dinner. Not to be held responsible for spoiling the spirit of the Saturday I decided to follow suit. While in the car , a sudden announcement came on air like some breaking news ‘ ok let’s go for a film ….and have an early dinner …. That was the turning point. I heard a loud NO and realized it was my voice . Thereafter …the usual and familiar family lip lock silence followed till our daughter decided break the ice …” Appa you wanted to go for a movie and that was original idea right? Then why are you saying no now …I dont understand why?? My wife and I looked at each other for a few moments and burst into laughter ... Later that night we had one of those memorable, intense and interesting chat at the dinner table, with lots of honest submissions from bot of us on how we struggled to get out of our anchors and how the battle lines were drawn as instantaneously “between to go OR Not to go “ and above all about the villainous role played by our Ego creating a silent high tide and havoc of a “NO GO “situation Well, sometimes the child in us get’s us into a tangle. …Until another child amongst us come to rescue and bail us out with an innocent, straightforward and upfront inquiry.
