“Mojo Bones” John Hathaway: Guitar & Vocals With 45 years experience on guitar John Hathaway has played many different styles of music. His earliest influences were artists such as Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole. Later exposure to BB King, Muddy Waters, Howlin Wolf, Freddie King and other blues greats was followed by a lifelong study of jazz artists such as Jango Reinhart, Charles Mingus, John Coltrane and Miles Davis. John Hathaway has played rock and roll, oldies, and blues styles with many Tri-State regional bands as well as toured with Elvis impersonator Jim LeBouef and The Kingsmen as lead guitarist. Rob Jarrell: Bass & Vocals Rob Jarrell has been playing electric guitar bass guitar for nearly 25 years in various bands throughout the Tri-State including Dirt Cheap, The Southside Band, The Bootleggers, Vintage Brew, Two River Junction, Bunkhammer and John Hathaway and Mojo Bones. He is influenced by the music of van Halen, The Black Crows, Waylon Jennings, Albert King and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. In addition to electric bass guitar Rob also plays acoustic and electric guitar, mandolin, piano and banjo. Cliff Riley: Drums With 35 years of experience, Cliff Riley has appeared with the Stan Kenton Orchestra, Don Ellis, The Diamonds, The Sound Express, Janna Parsley Project, Steve Hines, New Connection, The Zanter Trio, The Jazz Syndicate, Magic Mama Latte, Exposure Rock Band, Rivers Cities Jazz Ensemble and Radical Logic. He has performed basically all styles of music before landing with Mojo Bones, preferring rock, southern rock, jazz and jazz rock. Influences include Gene Kruppa, Buddy Rich, Peter Erskine, Steve Gadd, Elvin Jones, Butch Miles and Jim Rupp just to name a few. Cliff Riley is an active teacher, and a member of PDT (Vic Firth educational team), Percussion Art Society (PAS), the former International Association for Jazz Education, and president of the West Virginia Chapter of the Jazz Education Network as well as a Zildjian endorser (ZAP). Allan Hatten: Harmonica Artist & Vocals Allan Hatten has appeared with such acts as Charlie Daniels, Doug Kershaw, Mac Wiseman, Mickey Newberry and Lacy J Dalton to name a few as well as production manager for Mel McDaniel. The 2010 West Virginia Harmonica Champion is a nine year veteran working with the greats of the “The Grand Ole Opry” and 4 years at the Nashville Breakfast and Dinner Theatre as an opening act for such artists as Jeannie Seely, Del Reeves and Jack Green. He has toured the US and Canada with theater productions such as America and Her Music. Influences include Howard Levy, Charlie McCoy, Norton Buffalo, James Cotton and Paul Butterfield. Allan Hatten has worked as a session musician in Chicago, Miami, Los Angeles, Baton Rouge and Nashville with producers such as Harold Cowart of the BeeGees and David Dunston of Montgomery Gentry. He is also a member of the Reunion of Professional Entertainers (ROPE).
