Mollusk Monday: the ichnofossil *Petroxestes pera* Wilson and Palmer 1988, from the Upper Ordovician (Richmondian) Liberty Formation exposed along Flat Fork, in Caesar Creek State Park, Warren County, Ohio. These little slots are actually the borings of small bivalves, excavated out of an ancient hardground. Nearly identical trace fossils are also known from the somewhat older Kope Formation, where they are found in reworked carbonate concretions (cobbles).
