Mom always said she didnt want to go before our dad (Mitch). In my heart I know she would suffer. Im glad that he is still here with us. Without him nothing would be as it is for us or her. He still lives in that house and I hope he always will. It eases my pain personally to walk in there and see her pajamas hanging in the hall way, her shampoo still in the bathroom. I know these things will change but the things that will never change are the beloved pets that were buried in the yard who are now with her in heaven and she loved everyone of them as if they were her kids. On the front steps to the walk, theres a date carved into the sidewalk. My sisters kids have their prints out back. We all were given a piece of something special there. And the foundation of it all was my dad. He gave life to her dreams. She may not have cut out pictures of houses from magazine but she did have plans for a playhouse...lol. we came across those tonight. She had plans for each room...She had wishes and dreams and she shared them with her. He replaced the things that were broken. He or better put, they did it together. They dreamed it and he was the final touch that made those dreams come true. My point is...that is where I feel close to her. That is where I feel comforted and content. If I could just go there once a week I could feel her. The emptiness inside me might start healing. I wouldnt dare take nothing but a memory from a house that built us all. It all started with my brothers pulling up kitchen tile...lol. then she replaced the carpets and the roof herself...When dad came along he joined her. Now we all have a place to feel close to her. Its great to listen to Petra McGinnis ask him questions about what he loves most about her...what made him fall in love with her.
