Mom continues to do Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy daily at her facility and has Wound Care twice a week. This week has been very different from the past weeks. In so many ways it has been much better, especially for me and moms friends that can compare to the last weeks. She is so far removed from the state she was in a few weeks ago thank the Lord. My brother and I talked about this before he left. We knew she would wake up and possibly be disappointed in the state she found herself. We also knew she would wake up and we would be thrilled. It is all perspective. Mom actually woke up, heard her story and was MORE THAN GRATEFUL TO BE ALIVE. But this week, I think realities have set in. She is figuring out her condition and learning about what she can and cannot do. Her therapy sessions this week have had more tears than they did last week. But dont get me wrong she continues to push forward. She has told me that she is disappointed in herself because she cant...... Well, this is hard. It is early and I know and mom knows that she will much improve beyond today. Nevertheless, I know and mom knows that she wont be the same physically again. I was with mom yesterday for some time and a looming question was in my head that I never ask her. I will but for some reason yesterday had enough in it so I didnt ask. My question to her is, besides physically do you feel different? I do. I bet she does. I have seen so much of Gods glory the past few weeks that I am forever different. My mom has great physical losses that are becoming very apparent to her. That is very difficult but at the same time there is a peculiar glory that I know mom has to be aware of. There is a song that reminds me of what my mom is going through. I am certain this song all of us can play for ourselves or someone else from time to time.
