Mom has had a great 2 days back in rehab since returning from the hospital. They have changed up a few things with her nutrition & she is tolerating it well. She went to physical therapy yesterday & today. Stood up multiple times & (brace yourselves)...... she walked the the entire length of the parallel bars!!!!!!! First steps since May 2nd..... she was so incredibly proud of herself. Dad went in for his visit while she was in the therapy department this a.m. and missed that glorious walk by only minutes. She was way to exhausted to go for round 2..... but the therapist told dad how incredibly well she did. I can not adequately explain how this makes us feel! We have prayed & prayed for this day. Her strength is amazing for someone who has been bed ridden for 90 days. This is a major accomplishment! Thank you so much for the loyalty of keeping up with her journey. Your thoughts & prayers have made all the difference in this situation. So many prayers have gone up on moms behalf & the Good Lord has heard them all! We are tentatively looking at Aug 20th for her last surgery. Without major details - there is a portion of moms skull that has to be replaced. Back at the time of the infection - that part of the skull was not salvageable. So, they had a graft made for her. This normally is a 2- 3 day recovery in the step down ICU. Prayerfully, at that time we will be done with procedures!! I will update in a couple of days with her progress unless something changes. For now we are building strength & getting her prepared to come home to us. Thank you again & love you all!!
