Mom update - She breathed on her own (still intubated but machine turned off) for 12 hours today!!!! She gave the middle finger- actually double handed middle finger (a private joke with a lifelong friend) and did everything she could do to be ready for tomorrow -- they will be testing her breathing early in the morning for a short time. If she does well (as expected) they will remove the tube and she will be one more step ahead in the recovery process. HUGE DAY TODAY ... even bigger one tomorrow. Thanks for all the well wishes - caring - thoughts - karma and yes, prayers if thats your thing - she shouldnt suffer for me being a godless heathen :) Seriously folks, thanks.
