Mom update: 26 _________________ Mom had some visitors today! First her ESA Sorority Sister of 45 years, Teresa Smith, came to see her. Moms Sister Tina Fuqua Billy Beldon and her dear friend Harriet drove here from Atlanta. As usual traffic was horrible and they got stuck in Atlanta for over 2 hours. They arrived around 1:45. Tina brought a bag of goodies that would rival Santas. Tina has been working for years on a scrapbook for mom. She gave it to her today. It is beautiful, and covers her entire life all the way back to her parents marriage. She gave mom a lovely decorative bird house (mom loves birds) and a white stuffed puppy she named Angel. Tina brought the prettiest clip on fabric flower that goes very well with the air bed cover sheet. Tina handed me a huge bag of all of my favorite snacks! (Enough to last days). Tina has sent at least 20 cards. (You all might want to buy stock in Hallmark). Tina also left a shopping bag full of good books. I bought some cheap reading glasses tonight and now can actually read to mom without squinting. ;-) Tina is THE most thoughtful human being I have ever known. I am so blessed to have her in my life. We have had a special relationship since I was born. At the age of 2, Tina taught me how to shoot a bird. :-D I got every bit of my sense of soul from Tina. She used to give me so many Motown 45s and hipped me to more soul than ever. Tina is the reason I clap on 2 and 4 instead of 1 and 3. THANK GOD! Mom kind of has a boyfriend (that never goes to hospitals) but he has visited every couple of days when his work allows. He came today to see her after Tina and Harriet left.
