Mom update 55: (day 56) Dr. Rider called me about 5:45. Mom has a mass in her brain that is affecting a huge area of the temporal lobe, parietal lobe and a portion of the frontal lobe. They compared today and last nights scans with the all the scans she received at Memorial over the past several weeks. This is the scenario I dreaded the most. Doctor Rider thinks it has been this way a long time, as far back as when her ear aches started in February or so. Tomorrow they are going to do a biopsy of the tumor to see with what they are dealing. At this point there are 2 answers: benign or malignant. Either outlook is not very bright. I remain to keep my faith and hope and continue to pray. So far, mom has a batting average of 1000 in overcoming grave health issues in her life. She is strong. Her speech is worse and the numbness is overtaking her whole face. Her right hand is worse today, but she still does good in therapy. Any surgery will occur at Erlanger, which is the best place to be in a 100 mile radius. Memorial even told me this way back when, in case she had to have brain surgery. Please continue your prayers and include mom and her Doctors on every prayer list you can. Thanks for being with me this entire struggle. If not for my faith in God, friends and family I would not have made it this far. God bless
