Mom update ... It was two weeks ago this evening that mom fell and broke her neck. She is now in the care center here in Lone Tree and doing well. Better than I expected this soon. We got her brace readjusted a bit yesterday so she is no longer being choked by it. Now she can actually swollow and is starting to eat better, even though her choices of food are still restricted. With the brace on she can not get her teeth more than about half an inch apart and chewing something non-mushy hurts her neck. For those who do not know. Mom tripped over out mostly blind and deaf cat and has 3 complete fractures for the C1, 1 fracture of the C2, slight displacement of C4 and C5 and a burst fractured of T1. Not comfortable in the big neck brace but it is not built for comfort.
