Mom you were in our life such a brief time. In that time you filled our life with joy and filled a void in our life. Everytime I call dads Im waiting on you to pick up that phone so I can pick at you just one more time. I didnt know it at first because I was too blind to see, but you had a broken wing. It took years to heal but once it did you had to leave. Now I have too look towards the sky to see you flying among the stars God flung into the heavens. I know there was a brief time we went with out talking, but just like a mothers love whos always nurturing and forgiving ,we picked up where we left off. Mom Ill miss you an miss all the laughter that we had, but what Ill miss the most is when I hear you in that deep Mississippi accent tell me you loved me before you hung up the phone or before I walked out the door. So mom this song is for you because like you, you had a favorite song, but this is my favorite song. When I hear this I know to look up and listen close. Youll be saying, I love you.
