Momma M here: We wanted to give you an update in regards to Ty. He - TopicsExpress

Momma M here: We wanted to give you an update in regards to Ty. He is getting his blood work done tomorrow to see if his numbers have improved any since the new treatment we tried. We had to wait 30 days after the last shot to recheck it. Unfortunately Beth and I dont feel there will be any improvement based on how he seems to be acting But PLEASE send good energies and prayers his way tomorrow morning. If the numbers have improved we will continue this treatment. It is over $100 per shot and they have stated that if the numbers have not gotten better after the initial 3 shots than the cat is not responding to the treatment and there is no reason to continue. Back to how is is acting. We really feel he is still not feeling well. He still does not want to play and in the last few weeks will just stay under his desk and not come out to sit with us. When I go under the desk to be with him(yes I crawl under there hahaha) he purrs and will usually stretch out when I rub his belly. But he does seem to be having some discomfort around his eye area, particularly above his eye. This area for some reason just will not heal and seems to be very sensitive. We can understand the drainage under the eye BUT why wont the area above the eye heal? We will be taking Ty to ANOTHER eye Specialist in the next couple weeks because we just cant seem to get any answers from anyone as to what exactly is going on with him. We will have some difficult decisions to make in the next few weeks. Any type of surgery, whether it be exploratory or to remove the eye will be very very risky because of his extremely low white count and compromised immune system(Ty is FIV), but we really feel that something must be done. It is not fair to Ty to allow him to continuously feel ill. Please know that we are doing our best to make sure Ty is as happy as he can be. He is still eating well and wants treats and does love to be petted. And still loves looking out his window. As far as expense, we really do not know what we are looking at in terms of treatment. We just spent over $600 for his new treatment shots etc and as I said we will be seeing a specialist and we are booking a double appointment time so that we have time to REALLY explain everything to this Doctor. Part of the issue is these Drs. allot 10 to 15 minutes to each patient and we can not possibly explain Tys situation in that amount of time and get QUALITY care. Someone needs to help us figure out what is wrong with our Baby Boy :(. If you would like to donate towards his care you can donate through our site But we will set up a separate pet caring campaign just for Tys treatment because it allows people to see where we are as far as a goal. I wont set that up until we have a better idea of what type of diagnostics and treatment we are looking at. Thank you for all your love and support. We fear we have some difficult times ahead
