Momma here with a challenge for everyone! While November is a time to be thankful for all you have, it also a wonderful time to give back. Each November I begin collecting donations of food, snacks, toys and new small blankets for shelter animals and animals in rescues so that each one can have their very own gifts in time for the holidays. Shelter pets rarely get items designated specially for them and I believe each baby should know love regardless of where they are, and not just during the holidays. However, most people are in the giving spirit this time of year so In addition to the above mentioned, I like to challenge my friends to give back too. If you would like to help with this mission, dog food, cat food, toys, blankets, cat litter, snacks, and several other items that shelters and rescues are in need of would be GREATLY appreciated!!! My goal last year was to get enough donations so that each baby at the local animal shelter could receive their very own blanket. While that goal wasnt met, we were able to give each Groovy Paws foster dog a blanket AND split 2 carloads full of blankets, dog/cat food and cat litter between Annies Ruff House rescue and the local animal shelter!!! This year I wanna go bigger!!! And I believe we can do it!!! If you would like to donate any items I will gladly come and get them from you if you are local, or they can be sent to Paddys PO Box. Paddy the Pibble PO Box 6577 Norman, OK 73070 In the past I have had relatives out of state mail checks so shipping wasnt so expensive. If you would like to do that, I will gladly buy the items and deliver them as well as include a photo of the receipt so that you know your money went to the cause at hand. In addition to the shelter and rescue kiddos, we have to remember that there are many homeless furkids out there who are not lucky enough to be warm this winter. Last year I set out on a mission to provide makeshift shelter from the elements all throughout the metro area and thanks to some wonderful donators, I was able to make almost 20 shelters like the ones below and distribute them throughout the city as well as stock them with food. If you would like to help with this, please also let me know. Or perhaps this inspires you to do something similar in your community. Either way its a win win situation for the animals. There is a great need for food and shelter all around this world, and I know that together we can make a difference in the lives of many deserving animals.
