“Moms, it’s very sad for me to hear how nurses so often neglect to help moms with nursing their babies in those crucial early days. If you’re expecting your baby soon, take note of these three tips that will really help to get breastfeeding off to a good start: 1. Straight after birth, place your baby on your chest, skin-to-skin, and stay that way until Baby breastfeeds. 2. Make sure your place of birth advocates rooming-in – this means that Baby stays with you all the time, and does not sleep away from you, Mom. This way, you’ll get to bond well with Baby, and will soon learn her unique feeding patterns. 3. Most importantly – relax. Trust in your body’s ability to feed; don’t overanalyse breastfeeding, but DO ask for help if you need it.” Sister Lilian
