Monastic lives of Buddhist Monks and Nuns Myanmar is a multi ethnic and multi religious country. The people in Myanmar can embrace all the religions freely. In our country, about 90% of the people embrace Theravada Buddhism. There are so many pagodas and monasteries in Myanmar. These monasteries are not only shelter for the monks but also places to teach Buddhist Scriptures. So the monastic lives of Buddhist monks and nuns are very interesting. For ever monks and nuns, there are two main duties to do. The first one is to learn and teach the scriptures of Buddha and the second one is to practice meditation. There are about (400,000) monks and (75,000) nuns in our country. They play their respective roles well in Buddhism. Their goal is to reach to Nibbana.
