Giving his acceptance speech Mosienyane said the main task is to mobilise BOCCIM energy and every resource that can be laid to make sure that the organisation regains its momentum and the prestige that it has enjoyed over the years. “Beyond repositioning our organisation, we will continue from where the others left in terms of pursuing private sector issues with government as well as many other programmes that are on the go. Amongst them is privatisation, citizen economic empowerment, doing business reforms,” he said. Monchusi who was running for re-election has been the president since 2011 and has during his tenure created a more conducive business environment for private sector in Botswana. Amongst those are; forming a joint venture taskforce between BOCCIM and the government to ensure that business opportunities coming out of the Botswana government/De Beers diamond sales agreement and the relocation of the DTC to Gaborone accrue to local business.
